The Reiki Rundown
Reiki is…
-
A non-invasive practice that calms your nervous system helping to relieve stress, fear, and pain.
-
A complementary approach to healing that can be practiced along with Western medicine.
-
A spiritual practice that reconnects you to the healing power, intuition, and peace within yourself.
-
Available to everyone. Anyone can learn to practice on themselves and others. Reiki also can be shared with animals, plants, and life situations.
-
Being used in hospitals, hospice, and therapy around the world.
-
Just as effective over a distance, as in person.

Reiki is NOT…
-
Massage or reflexology. Hands are lightly placed on or above the body without manipulation, and you are fully clothed.
-
A religion. Reiki is non-denominational. Practitioners come from all faiths, beliefs, and religions. Reiki works with any religious path you have chosen for your life, and equally well if you do not follow any religious beliefs.
-
A magic cure. Though many ailments disappear after one Reiki treatment, it is more common to see improvements after multiple treatments. It is a gentle practice that is most effective in combination with other alternative and Western healing methods. Reiki often requires you to surrender to old beliefs and release past emotional wounds that may be blocking your energy or Ki and causing physical pain.
